Dear John
“On the threshold between the light and the dark, that's where my muse lies.”
Tomek is interested in multitudes of the human condition.
He likes to portrait his subjects in a way, that brings to light facets of their identity, that may not be obvious, based on their everyday expression. Facets, beneath the surface level: evocative, edgy, but still authentic.
Tomek likes to unearth and extract the deeper parts of their personalities.
He creates a space, safe to play in, aiming to extract different personal aspects. By shining a light on eccentricities and ambiguities, his subjects can be strong & sexy & playful & vulnearable.
“Behind the courtesy personality can pull into focus.”
In front of Tomek's lens
comics become femmes fatales
celebrities are dark & enigmatic
the sweet get spicy
and the shy reveal their daring side.
Without any judgment they are free to explore.
